Amazing amazon!

Amazing amazon!

 Pouring rain all year!
 No sunlight visible!

Trees, dense forests that are tight and close-knit!

There are countless rare birds and animals living in it !!

Along with this are a few thousand tribes who have never seen the outside world!

Imagine this wonderfully life-affirming life in our backs.

 These forests are dangerous.

You can't go out into the woods and get back on the leash!

This is because of the animals and natural systems that live there, the flow of water and the dark conditions.

The amazing Amazon forest and the pride that created it will go to the Amazon River !!

Its length is 6,992 km.  It is the largest river bed in the world.

Its total volume exceeds the freshwater volume of the next eight major rivers.

The flow of this river has changed many times.

Originally flowing west, the river flows eastward due to the development of the Andes Mountain.

The life of this forest and the fund is about 5.5 billion years.

The Amazon River joins the 1,100 tributaries of the sea from the rest of the world.

The fact that "more than 90 percent of the plants here are not yet studied by global botanists" makes Amazon's magnum opus.

 ------------------------

No river crossing the Amazon River!

The reason for this is not the width, but the modern engineers can build the bridge across it!

However, there is no need for the bridge as much of the river flows through the tropical rainforest and there are few cities.

Of the 1100 tributaries, 17 tributaries are more than 1000 kilometers long!

The Amazon River has the largest amount of water in the Atlantic Ocean.

During the rainy season, water was up to 300,000 cubic meters per second, and from 1973-1990 it was approximately 209,000 cubic meters per second.

Overall, the New York City City is adding 12 years of water to the Amazon River Atlantic Ocean overnight!

The depth of the river during the rainy season is an average of 40 feet.

The primary river is approximately one to six miles wide.

Large ocean-going cells can go up to 'Manaus'.

Small vessels weighing 3000 tonnes or 9000 tonnes and if the lower part of the cell is 18 feet from the water level, they can go up to 3600km in the river.

Not all Amazon tributaries are flooded at one time.

Most of them are flooded in November and will last until June.

 -------------------

 Amazon Rainforest

The Amazon forests border eight countries, including Brazil, Colombia, and Venezuela.

It covers an area of about 25 lakh square miles.

20 percent of Earth's total oxygen is produced here.

These forests are the largest consumed carbon dioxide produced on the Earth's surface.

The Amazon basin, which is very humid, is home to these forests.

The Amazon River and its hundreds of subsidiaries in the region run very slowly and then blend into the sea.

The rainforest is home to more than 50 million of the world's over 100 million species of flora, fauna, and insects, including more than one million species of animals.

There are 3,000 species of fish, 1,500 species of birds, 1,800 species of butterflies and 200 species of mosquitoes.

One third of the world's animals live in these forests.

The Amazon Rainforest is a wonderful world full of countless plants and herbs.

Because the Amazon forest is mostly located in Brazil, the country has the second largest forest reserve in the world (4,776,980 sq.km.).

Between August 2012 and July 2013, Brazil reported that the rate of deforestation in the Amazon has increased by 28%.

 --------------------------

There are only about 200 of the 3000 fruit available on Amazon, but there are about 2000 people who enjoy eating these rare varieties.

Aboriginal people have been living here for 20 thousand years.

AD  In 1500, there were 6,090 lakh tribes.

But now, there are just 2.5 lakh people.

The mugs of 215 tribal groups that live here speak 170 different languages!

They still live in harmony with nature.

 The animals are hunted green.

They don't know what to cook.

It is interesting to note that these people, who have the physiological ability to resist the spread of deadly diseases in the jungle, are not only capable of countering the colds transmitted to them by civilized beings like us.

It is a sad fact that they fall victim to colds.

The researchers decided to photograph some Aboriginal people here.

But they were trying to fly by helicopter because it was dangerous to approach them by vehicle.

When they were filming down low above their locations, they thought something terrible was about to hit them.

 ----------------------------

Anaconda, the world's largest snake, is most commonly found on the Amazon basin.

 Often these live in water.

Only the nose area extends below the water level.

The eel fish found in the area is capable of pumping a lot of electricity.

It can kill a man with flowing electricity.

There are so many piranha fish that even a large number of animals, such as themselves, can bite a few minutes and leave only a skeleton.

Similarly, blood vampire bats are abundant here.

It has the power to spread rabies.

Even today, there are plenty of mysteries that are not discovered by humans in the jungles and rivers of the Amazon.

 ---------------------------

The drilling of oil wells in the Amazon River was carried out in the late 1970s.

It was then that another great river was discovered beneath the river!

Subsequently, work on oil reserves was halted and studies of another river were carried out.

It was led by an Indian researcher, Walia Hamza.

Another river that flows beneath the Amazon River is about 6,000 km.  Was found to be elongated.

The river is named after the Indian explorer and is called the Hamsa River, which is about 13 thousand feet deep!

He conducted the study for forty years and submitted the 2011 report.

However, the study is said to be completed in the near future.

 ----------------------------

A boiling river flows in the midst of the cold Amazon rainforest.

The six-mile river was discovered by Andrés Ruzo in the Mayantuyacu area of the country.

All those who fall into the river feel like they are on fire.

There is a waterfall at the back of the river.

The water from the falls falls into the rock and becomes hot.

The vapor begins its boiling foil to fly with the broken rock.

Its width is 25 meters (82 feet) and its depth is 6 meters (22 feet), according to a study by Gizmodo.

There is boiling and evaporation at 100 degrees.

Not only animals, but we are sure to die.

 It is a small river.

However, it is surprising how much of the heat from the earth is obtained by boiling the entire surface.

But the river is very far from the volcano.

It is not yet known whether the Earth's hot springs, which are responsible for the heat, are in the vicinity of the river.

Sale of foreign liquor without new Excise Dept. sticker banned

The Excise Department has banned the sale of all brands of imported liquor without the new foolproof sticker introduced recently by the Department.
Accordingly, the possession, transportation, storing and the sale of imported liquor is illegal unless this new sticker is affixed on containers of foreign liquor.
The Excise Notice No: 4/2019 which was published under Gazette Extraordinary No: 2128/30 issued by Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera in this regard under the Excise Ordinance on June 20, 2019, has been in force effective July 20th.
Accordingly, under the first phase, this regulation has been implemented on imported liquor (effective July 20th) and, it will be extended to foreign liquor that is manufactured here and local liquor as well in the near future. Thereafter all kinds of liquor local or foreign should have the special sticker which is introduced recently by the Excise Department on such bottles and cans.
There are 23 institutions that import liquor to this country.  Hereinafter, they should not release their imported stocks of foreign liquor to the market without fixing the foolproof sticker on such bottles or cans of liquor issued by the Excise Department.
There are two firms that import liquor for the duty-free shops at the Airport and this special sticker should be pasted on such bottles of liquor imported by these two companies before they are cleared from the Customs bonded warehouses.
The imported liquor will generally be sold at the Duty-Free shopping complex at the Sri Lanka Airport. Accordingly, in the future, any liquor which is liable for Excise duty could not be possessed, stored or sold at these Duty-Free shops without pasting the special sticker on them.
This new regulation would strive to prevent smuggling foreign liquor to the country and, the new measures would stop selling substandard liquor and adulterated liquor to the customers hereinafter.
There are 23 licensed alcohol manufacturing factories and 14 spirit distillery plants in Sri Lanka. At the same time, there are over 4000 licensed liquor sales outlets throughout the country. The income of the Excise Department would further be increased by the introduction of this new regulation and, it is ensured that the customers buy standard varieties of liquor which are produced under hygienic conditions and approved criteria.
The Excise Department will introduce a new Mobile Phone App soon to enable the consumers to verify the authenticity of the special sticker that is coming on every bottle they are going to buy hereinafter.  This special sticker is printed by a foreign company in a foolproof manner. A special committee comprising representatives from the Treasury, the Excise Department, and the Sri Lanka Customs has been appointed if it is required to alter the appearance and texture of this special sticker.
When this new sticker is introduced to foreign as well as local liquor alcohol, the Department of Excise expects to further increase its revenue. Its projection of income to be generated in 2019 is Rs.130 billion. The income of the department in 2016 was only Rs.120 billion.
Meanwhile, Commissioner General of the Excise Department, H.G. Sumanasinghe said that the revenue of the department has in 2019 so far exceeded Rs.67 billion.

What was the Wanathavilluwa , Puttalam explosives for?

The CID had arrested a group of persons over the discovery of 100kg of high powered explosives used for making bombs, a stock of detonators and several other illegal items that was buried in a coconut estate in Wanathawilluwa, Puttalam yesterday (17).

The police suspect that this organized gang of four suspects who had built a tent in the coconut estate had been planning to build bombs for some destructive purpose.

Information regarding these suspects and the high powered explosives had been derived through the interrogation of the religious terror suspects who were arrested over the destruction of Buddha statues in the Mawanella and surrounding areas.

Among the items recovered were 100 detonators, a stock of wire cords, six 20 lt. cans of Nitrate Acid which is banned in Sri Lanka, a stock of bulbs, almost 75 kg of explosives suspected to be C4 high powered explosives, a 12 bore rifle and a stock of ammunition, an air rifle, two tents, a stock of food, cameras and several other items.

The police suspect that this group may have been planning on manufacturing several small bombs to be placed at Buddhist statues to destroy them with the aim of causing racial and religious clashes.

The high powered explosives were placed in large barrels and buried in the estate and the 100 detonators were also buried on the estate.

The police had discovered several labels with Indian names on the plastic barrels containing the explosives and suspect that these explosives could have been brought to the country from India.

The suspects had obtained electricity to their temporary tents through solar power. The high powered explosives were sent to the Government Analyst for testing yesterday and the CID is expected to obtain the report shortly.

The arrested suspects had been brought to the CID last night, according to CID sources. Previously a group of organized criminals were arrested in connection with the destruction of Buddha statues in the Mawanella and surrounding areas.

A police team comprising CID Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne and SSP Shani Abeysekara have commenced an investigation. The raiding team headed by ASP Wickramasekara had travelled almost 20 km through the jungle from Wanathawilluwa and carried out this raid.
