The trial will be held on 7th June in the trial of Parliamentarian Harunika Premachandra.
Colombo High Court Judge R. Kurusinghe announced today the date of hearing of the case.
The Attorney General has been lodged with the Attorney General against Hirunika under the 17 charges including kidnapping a young man in Dematagoda area and acting as an institution for illegal detention.
Eight of the other suspects charged with the incident were convicted on November 24 last year.
Eight individuals who had pleaded guilty to the case were remanded to Colombo High Court Judge R. Kurusinghe and sentenced to two years imprisonment and fined.
Accordingly, it is noteworthy that they were released on unconditional bail after paying their penalty today.
